A clear and bold heading
One of the key factors contributing to the strong cultural affinity of Kenyans is their predominantly Christian background and humanistic value system – a legacy also shaped by the British colonial era. Germany enjoys a very high reputation in East Africa, which further strengthens the connection. As a result, East Africans are characterized by strong motivation and a solid work ethic. Our applicants possess all the essential qualities for successful integration into both society and the workplace:
INTRINSIC MOTIVATION
The opportunity to work in Germany is seen by many Kenyans as a once-in-a-lifetime chance. Youth unemployment is extremely high, with around 75% of school graduates facing no real job prospects each year. Only 3% of the population is of retirement age, making the job market particularly challenging for young people.

Culture
The British colonial era has had a lasting influence on the culture of Kenya and East Africa. Today, around 85% of the population are Christians who have grown up with a humanistic worldview. Values such as social responsibility, respect, and a Western-oriented work ethic are deeply rooted in society. Bureaucratic processes and administrative structures are also strongly based on Western models, which helps facilitate entry into the German labor market.
Education
The education system in Kenya and other East African countries is closely aligned with European standards and is at least on a comparable level. School attendance typically spans 10 to 12 years and provides a solid foundation in general education. This strong academic background offers excellent conditions for further vocational training or university studies in a wide range of professional fields.

Language
Kenyans and East Africans are known for their exceptional linguistic aptitude. In addition to the many regional languages, Swahili is widely spoken as the national language, and English is the dominant language in daily life. Interestingly, many East African languages share similarities with German, which makes learning the language easier. German speakers can often read Swahili texts without difficulty, and conversely, many East Africans find it easy to learn and speak German at a high level. This linguistic versatility and ability to learn quickly make them highly sought-after professionals in the international job market.
"It is time for us to stem the tide of youth unemployment. Every year, 800,000 young people join the workforce and over 600,000 of them do not find opportunities for productive work."
